A 5 year old boy in my town had leukemia. His wish for Make-a-Wish was to spend a day with Corbin Bleu (an actor in High School Musical), and he had a blast. Yesterday was the boy’s funeral. Corbin flew in to our town with his dad and attended the funeral as a pallbearer. His selflessness GMH

I work in an airport. Today, a group of around 50 Army soldiers got off one of our flights, about 5 at a time, coming home. In an instant, the entire concourse got on their feet and gave a standing ovation until every last soldier got off the plane. GMH

I just started therapy for a 10 year long battle with Bulimia. I went to the library to grab some books on ED Recovery. Tonight, I opened up one of the books to start reading and an index card fell out with GMH’s site and it stated “Smile! You are beautiful!” It made me cry. THANK YOU GMH!

Today, I told my boyfriend that I am struggling with depression… and it didn’t scare him away. I showed him GMH yesterday and he’s not going to sleep tonight until he’s read all of the posts. He “wants to be more like the people on GMH.” He doesn’t see it yet, but he already is. His kindness GMH.

I suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and often have flashbacks. My best friend was with me when I was having a bad one. After I kept apologizing to him, he held me and told me “If I can’t handle your past, I’m not worthy of your present or your future.” He stayed up with me all night. His love GMH.

I was at a dance at my boyfriends school when we got in a fight and I went to the restroom to cry. An older girl saw me and sat next to me on the floor, in her beautiful gown. She talked to me and made me laugh. Later that night, she was crowned Prom Queen, and I know exactly why. Beautiful people, inside and out, GMH

A month ago, my uncle passed away due to a medical mistake. While at the hospital, a complete stranger went up to my aunt, gave her a pin of a dragonfly, and told her to think of her loved one whenever in grief or feeling alone. On the day of my uncle’s funeral, a dragonfly landed on my aunt, then landed on my uncle’s casket. Miracles GMH.

My friend was always depressed. One day, she attempted suicide and a guy she never really talked to at school visited her at the hospital. He said, “Don’t you dare do that again! You are the MOST beautiful girl that I have seen. EVER.” That was 6 years ago. They’re getting married this weekend. GMH

I had a heart transplant last year. When I got home I found out that my town had a fundraiser day where companies donated food, drinks, prizes and carnival rides. A man who lived the next town over had been sitting outside his store everyday selling tickets and raising money for me to help cover future medical costs. They GMH

My mom once told me that when she was younger my grandma had been robbed leaving work. Her purse had all her money, credit cards, and pictures of her children. The next day she found the purse on her front porch, nothing was missing but there was an extra $100 and note apologizing and wishing her luck raising four children.GMH.

When I was 6 I broke my arm. Stuck in hospital for a few days, one morning I woke up to find my favourite barbie doll had a cast on her right arm too, just like mine. The Doctor said that it had taken him longer to cast my barbies arm then my own. People like him GMH.

The other day I was babysitting for a 7 year old boy and he asked me if a boy had ever kissed me. When I told him no he grabbed my hand and planted a big kiss on it. His love GMH

Today, at an assembly, i saw a guy in my grade getting picked on by some guys on the football team because he was gay. the brutal insults went on for about five minutes until the quarterback, the king of our school, stood up and announced he was gay. nobody ever made fun of the kid again. after, i asked him if he really was gay. He isn’t. GMH.

Christmas is always hard for us, since I’m one of five kids in the family. One day my mom went shopping for presents and her credit card got declined. She left the store, but before she got in the car a random woman came running after her, with her entire cart filled with my mom’s gifts. I still cry when I hear this story, because that woman GMH

My friend got HIV at age 6 when she was raped. She loved to learn, but couldn’t continue in school after HS due to her illness. She died during my second year of college. I found out at a memorial service that our history teacher had gone to her house to read to her every day until she died. GMH.

My younger brother, who I only see twice a month, once asked me to teach him the alphabet in sign language. After working hard all day, he had mastered it. My dad later told me that a new girl came to my brother’s school and was deaf. It made him sad that she had no friends, so he wanted to reach out to her. He was only six. My baby brother GMH.

I’ve been recovering from years of depression and self-harm. My boyfriend has been helping me recover every step of the way, by funding my treatment and making sure I’m never alone. Today I was feeling really down about myself. He tossed me my dictionary and said to look up “beautiful.” He had taped in my picture. It’s the little things that GMH

At my college graduation everyone is allowed to take a loved one with them as they walk across the stage. The last girl to walk across held the arm of her 90 year old grandpa. As they crossed the stage the chancelor read her grandfathers name. He graduated 60 years ago but didn’t get to walk his own graduation because he was fighting in WWII. GMH.

Yesterday my cousin told me about how her hairdresser in Beverly Hills, instead of buying lots of gifts for friends and family, goes to the post office in South Central LA, picks up letters to Santa by poor kids, buys all the gifts they asked for, and personally delivers them to their homes Christmas Eve. His kindness and generosity GMH.
